Overview
Kayaks & SUPs offer an incomparable way to take in the breath-taking scenery of Madeira’s basaltic south coast.
The crystal-clear waters of the Garajau marina reserve are one of the Madeira’s most-popular kayaking and paddleboarding spots. Its naturally protected bays and sedate waters are perfect for beginners and families – more experienced kayakers can enjoy a privileged perspective of the island’s rugged southern coast, with the hamlets, hills and high mountain passes of Camacha and Ribeira Frio stretching off into the distance.
Below the surface, the marina reserve is teeming with life: parrot fish, trumpet fish, puffers, groupers, moray eels, barracuda, majestic manta rays and curious monk seals are all sighted here. We’ll provide all the equipment you’ll need and a qualified guide will be with you every step of the way.
