Overview
Coasteering is one of the fastest-growing outdoor pursuits on Madeira.
If you’ve never come across coasteering before, it’s a challenging mix of bouldering, scrambling, and wild swimming, for which the characteristically rocky and volcanic coastlines of Madeira’s south coast are ideal.
Coasteering allows you to access parts of the island which most visitors will never see – the rocky ledges, hidden caves, and steep cliffs which are usually cut off by the sea. As you scramble along the coastline, you’ll jump from rock to rock, and from rocks into the ocean. It can be a little scary the first time out, but our guides are on hand to help you with technique and to build up your skills before taking on any big jumps.
It’s a very inclusive activity and there are routes suitable for beginners, but a good level of fitness is essential and you must be a confident swimmer. Safety is paramount and our qualified guides will be with you every step of the way.
